If you are going bankrupt shortly, there's no point.
Your next communication with them should be very short: "I am bankrupt - contact my official receiver."
Strictly, there may be no need to contact them at all, the official receiver will contact your creditors.
Ok.
It's going to take me a good three months, at least, to raise the BR fees though.
So, I thought it best to 'keep them in the loop', and at least offer something.
Also, by telling them I'd lost my job, hopefully then they wouldn't call my ex employers.
What a nightmare.0 -
A PDL can't do any more than a high street lender. So please don't worry about them any more than your other creditors.
Can you actually afford £1? Because it sounds like you've got priority debts and everything should be going to them. Three months really isn't long to ignore calls and letters. In fact, if you time it right, you can write to them to say that you've lost your job and can't afford to repay, without offering the £1, then wait for them to write back, then spend a couple of weeks thinking about what to say to them, and before you've actually got anything sorted, you're BR and it's all over.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Can't really offer any good advice Sim, except to say please make sure you have support around you, things are clearly going to get rough and you want to stay on that wagon :-)Aiming to be debt & mortgage free by November 2018!0

Its is indeed the Co-op Cashminder account, and I really don't want to lose it.
I'm considering closing it completely, and reopening another - new account number, so Moneyshop can't take any money. What do you think?
I am intending to include the £250 Moneyshop loan with my other debts with CCCS. They didn't set me up on a DMP, as I'm out of work at the moment (only income is ESA).
CCCS suggested the best solution would be a Debt Relief Order.
My debts are now above the £15K limit for a DRO though, so Bankruptcy is looking likely.
BR will cost me £525 though
I will indeed call CCCS again on Monday morning, thanks.
My internet is due to be restricted tomorrow, and I can't afford to pay them the £15 (Plusnet home phone and BB) until next Friday.
My mobile has already been restricted (owe T-Mobile £51*sigh*), and I've called them to let them know I'll be paying that off next Friday.
I've already put some clothes on Ebay to help bring some more money in, and three out of four items are selling (on course to bring in just over £50 thank goodness). However, withdrawing from PayPal to my bank account will take 3/4 days though
I've also signed up to do some website reviewing for a company who pay just over £6 per review. Have had two reviews in the space of two days, but this is not regular.
Things really are a depressing mess.
I've let the DWP know that I'm due to start some 'Permitted Work' (less then 16 hours / less than £95 per week; all above board); doing telephone / online market research surveys.
Haven't started yet as I can't even afford the £5 Skype charge, as my internet is due to be cut tomorrow, and so it'd be a waste of money.
Am really trying to sort myself out, but each time I try, there is another exhausting hurdle to overcome.
I just keep telling myself, that if I stay sober a day at a time, and get help with the depression / anxiety (have started on the anti - depressants / referred for therapy), then everything will *eventually* fall into place :T
Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend.
Thanks again,
Sim.
PS - Great to hear that the Wage Day Advance company saw sense eventually. I just hope that Moneyshop will see sense too.
PPS - I realise it's not an *ideal* solution, but I'm seriously considering closing my Co-op account, reopening another Co-op account, writing to Moneyshop, telling them I've lost my job, and then letting the Moneyshop debt go onto my CCCS list of creditors to be dealt with in the Bankruptcy. I'm fed up of it all affecting my health.
Hi Sim
I see there's been a lot of activity here since I posted earlier, from people far more 'in the know' than myself. However, re your Co-Op account, will they actually let you close your account and open another just like that? To them it must be obvious you are avoiding something. If you feel it's necessary (to stop the PDL coming out on Friday from your debit card if you have full funds), I thought of an excuse you could use, which is lying but if it gets what you want from it... maybe you could say you had a virus on your computer when you went onto the banking website/accidentally clicked a link... something similar, that you're really worried and want to change all details of the account. I knowit's a fib, but they can't prove it, plus it does happen - my mum told me the other day that she kept getting a pop up when she was logging onto her Barclaycard secure site asking her to enter details, and it looked completely legit - she knew it wasn't hence she told me (I work in IT), and after many false starts, I eventually found a particularly nasty Trojan sat on their system, got rid of it, and lo and behold, the pop ups stopped...not sure where it came from either which is concerning. But still, my point is, it happens.
Good luck to you, hope you managed to find some bargains and some kind of treat when you did your food shop!

Thanks Lee-anne.
Re the Co-op account, I'll think of something.
Can't believe I'm actually having to decide between paying my broadband bill or getting some food in the morning0 -

You have £20 exactly? This means you have £6.50 left to spend on food till Friday. Perfectly do-able. Do you mind eating the same thing everyday? Suggestion:
- buy 2 or 3 tins of different beans £1.10 - £1.65 depending on what you get
- get a grain like barley or green lentils - i mean the bags of dried ones £0.50
- 2x tins tomatoes £0.60
- garlic and an onion if you don't already have them £0.50
- find some reduced veg, include at least one root veg (visit supermarket at about 3 or half 3 if poss, get reduced to clear bargains) £all remaining money - £3.40 ish with my examples - that can get you a lot!
Make a giant casserole with all the above, I'm assuming you have stock cubes and maybe dried herbs or tomato puree to include. By including grains and beans, the portions will seriously stretch to 8, even 10 or 12 depending on how much veg you got and how much grain things you put in.
You can stretch it further if you have rice in the cupboard by serving it with rice, as you're cutting the portion size down.
Not much fun but nourishing and would let you do both?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Super advice above...give it a go.
