I haven't done one for ages but I used to take as much as I could get. Don't forget some £10 & £5's as people often have notes at the start. Either wear a bumbag or a bag that goes across your body & don't take it off, or leave it open. Take lots of carrier bags as well.0

thanks never actually thought about the bags, we thought we'd take around £100 with us with a selection of pound coins, 50ps and some notes? maybe thats too much so thanks for replying0

I haven't done one for ages but used to take about £25 in change & same in notes, if I had it. Better take some small silver, if you're asking 50p you probably won't get it. I used to do 50p each or 3 for £1 on things & most people if they wanted 1 thing would always find 2 more, gets rid of it quicker & I found that people didn't haggle so much.0

100?? Wow, I only ever take a tenner. If anyone has wanted something that badly from me and doesn't have the change I put it to one side for maybe an hour. If they don't return to collect it it's back for sale again. They have always come back though.0

I have money belts and keep them loaded all the time ready for the next car boot. I take £35 float each time which includes the £8 I need to get in.
The rest of the money is in a mix of £1 coins and 20p and 10ps. The big things obviously go for a few pounds, but at the various car boots I use 10-20p is a common sort of price so I have lots of small silver to give change from £1.
I'm not sure I am doing one tomorrow, but I have boxes packed already in case I do but am not wasting space with clothes or books any more as I'm fed up of carrying them around just for 10p a go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. AS I keep a rolling float I don't have to bother the bank anymore. For the first one each season I just collect small change for the few weeks before the start of the season.
My £35 float just stays in th ebag after each and every car boot, it's in the cupboard behind me even now. Anything above the £35 at the end of the car boot is my 'profit'. My system has only failed once, last year I did a car boot on a really bright sunny day and there were absolutely no buyers so I took £35, my pitch fee for that new car boot was £10 and I came home with less than the £35 I went with and had to add money to the bag.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I always get my change from the post office. Its a small local one and know him quite well as I send lots of ebay packagaes through him. he never minds giving me some change. and I take around £30-£40 worth of change. Mostly £1 coins and silver. Maybe the odd fiver if I have it in my purse.Happy days
