We’d like to remind Forumites to please avoid political debate on the Forum.
This is to keep it a safe and useful space for MoneySaving discussions. Threads that are – or become – political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules. Thank you for your understanding.
PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Im over on LLZ too, though i cant remember the username.
Im more of a reader than a poster, though Jeffrey in the past and MTG has replied to my threads.
I wonder if Jeffrey makes any £££ out of the links in his signature, and if anyone does ring him up at £1.50 p/m. They could probably post all the info on the forum in drips, and he would eventually give them all the info they need.0 -

He must be paying LLZ to be a topic expert and be allowed to advertise.
As he, an other topic experts, have been active there for years there must be a positive return.0 -

There are so many people posting there that I have never seen before and the general quality of advice (old posters still posting excepted) appears to leave quite a bit to be desired!
"Michael Clayton" is worrying about you MTG - isn't that touching??0 -

I think his post#281 may seem a bit of a climb-down considering his previous comments on the situation. This may be either as a result of having the situation explained to him, or taking the time to read through the whole thread. He seems to have toned down his attitude in this post. This is typical of what happens when people wade in without knowing all the facts, or reading through the entire thread.0 -
I was a long-standing member of a forum. I apparently offended someone and was banned with no explanation of why. I decided to set up a similar forum a few months later. Those who agreed the moderators were wrong to ban someone joined our forum, the others stayed. As far as I'm concerned, I learnt a lot about how NOT to treat members, and ensure that everyone is dealt with fairly when problems arise. And now our forum is more popular and has been features on TV and in magazines for being a friendly, supportive site.
So well done for taking a stand and I hope you keep giving good advice!Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

Just for info - Admin have made a statement over on the "banned" thread if anyone interested.0

I'm not a newbie here and have been on LLZ as long but don't post there so much and don't often look at the TAB ("Take a Break") thread and I have to confess to having supported Jeffrey (not Jefferey - he won't like that) against MTG on matters such as the truth of the Bible - although there are some prophecies by Isaiah etc that I believe have been fulfilled that he wouldn't accept - "Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son...." That'll probably start MTG going....
However having read large chunks of THAT thread on LLZ I'm still don't understand why she was banned. Surely you shouldn't be banned just for saying things that others don't agree with.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -

Didn't see that - must've come while I was composing my post. For the benefit of others it is at: http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?38319-mtg-banned&p=305661#post305661
Pity that they didn't do this sooner!RICHARD WEBSTER

Maybe they have a life outside the forum. There's a thought, eh? :cool:0 -
It is good & a relief to learn that J is not the moderator.
However, I am not saying that MTG is the only offender, just someone who has raised her profile in this regard the most – to the point where too much of our time is being spent on her posts.
In these hard economic times it appears you have become a creator of a job for someone !
An analysis of the posts shows MTG posts are 83% off topic. I’m sure others may have similar profiles, but this shows that basically the forum is being used as a personal sounding board by some.
Did someone press the wrong button on their calculator or what?
Or is there a decimal point missing 8.3% maybe ??
This is acceptable to us within reason, providing they do not infringe the rules. Infringements not only offend many, they lose us advertising revenue. I have direct evidence of this.
...but not as much revenue as an empty forum tho.
My posts are my opinion which is neither right nor wrong.0
