Buyer reversing payment - Where do I stand?

in future i am always sending recorded delivery. it's a joke the buyer can just click "unauthorised account use" up to something ridiculous like 6 months later and still get a full refund, and you'd be screwed because you have no proof of postage
Did the buyer complain to ebay that you were selling something you were not allowed to sell, ebay agreed with the buyer at first but afterwards changed their mind? Have I got it right?0 -
i don't even know if it was the buyer that complained, i messaged him but he didn't answered
ebay removed my listing, paypal said buyer claimed "unauthorised payment" (again, could be automatic), now paypal have said no evidence was found and i was refunded0 -

not sure why, since its only been a couple of days and it was supposed to last a week, also the buyer didn't respond to any messages i sent him. oh well, i'm glad its over

Why send recorded?
To win an authorised payment case for eligible items it is proof of postage you need.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If all you need for a 'fraudlulent use of' -chargeback is proof of postage that is free for normal post , your post office can supply that and it is good practice anyway to always keep those for 180 days in case of claims or loss. Recorded is just standard mail, but costs an extra 77p.
If this thread had been about the other sort of claim, ie an INR one then you would need to prove delivery, and recorded rarely tracks to delivery in many areas so for absolute safety you would need special delivery or a courier. They are probably unrealistic on cheaper items though.

KNowing what protects you against what is the first step in a seller deciding where their own comfort levels are. What is right for me or any other seller might not be right for you, so set your own limits. If you usually sell intangible items though I woudl also double check the seller protection as there are further restrictions for those but as I don't sell codes or anything it is not something i keep up to date with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. ah right, but sure i'm paypal were asking for a tracking number?
i usually send items 1st class but have never received a "COP", guess i'll need to start asking from now on0 -
Can I assume that the buyer would actually receive from you an email containing a list of codes that when entered into the game would give him virtual coins to spend on players?. If so, then you could in future, send a list of the codes through the post and put in your listing that this is what you do in order to comply with Ebay rules.
I remember a few years back, a player on one of the online space trading games sold a space station on ebay for £35,000. I'd like to him post that!!!.Never Knowingly Understood.

nope no codes to be sent, basically the OP plays fifa for ages and gains coins for each game he plays.
once he has about a million coins he gets the buyer to list a player for 1 million coins and the op buys the player - this means the coins have been transfered.
i have seen on ebay people selling a million coins for over £100, stupidness money if you can just play it yourself and earn them.0
