LPG tank siting - help please

Hi
I have an above ground tank which was installed 22yrs ago. It is supplied by Calor. I have been looking around to move from them as not been happy for a while and had Countrywide out this morning to survey the tank.
They have said it will need moving as new legislation states it must be more than 3mtrs from boundary fencing, buildings, trees etc. Ours is 0.5mtrs from a hedge, has a large tree next to it with overhanging branches, has a greenhouse and shed close by and power cables within 1.5mtrs of it.
Spoke to Calor who have said this was noted when the inspection was done 2yrs ago and a senior engineer came out (I am mainly housebound and never saw anyone), who said it wasn't a problem and tank could stay where it is. I have asked for that engineer to make contact and come out again so I can meet them as I don't believe anyone visited.
I have looked at Calor's own website and on there it states minimum distances for siting the tank and also states it on HSE's website.
Does anyone know about this?? Calor were vague about who would pay for re-siting. Countrywide said they would supply pipework etc free of charge but we would have to get all trenches etc dug at our own cost.
Any advice would be appreciated. I have emailed UKLPG and waiting for a response from them.
Thanks Sue

If the installation satisfied the regs in place at the time of installing, then I would think it is ok.
New updated regulations are usually not retrospective. but would of course apply to any new tank installation.0
