Smartphone Camera Doh! Question

There's probably a simple reply to this and I'll be kicking myself when someone enlightens me but...

If I want to take a picture of myself, how do I do it? My Desire HD doesn't have a button for taking the picture, just the on screen icon to 'tap' and when the phone's facing away from me, no matter how hard I try to tap in the right place, I never manage it.

Is there a tip I haven't thought of?

(Don't laugh at me if the answer is really easy) :D

Are there any free camera apps that let you touch the screen anywhere? Plenty for the iPhone so I imagine there will be for yours too :)

I'll have to have a play around. I've never downloaded an app.... I'll wait til I'm at home on my WiFi.

I thought it would be an easy question, I mean, just about every profile picture on Facebook these days is a young person taking their own picture with their mobile, (usually with the night club toilet in the background...)

Think you need to use the Trackpad, the physical round thing at the bottom. Press it.

Oh I see - you will just have to master the location of the touch button I think if its facing you or get someone else to snap a pic of you.

    Or use the timer delay...
