Luxury/romantic accomodation recommendations up north?

Does anyone know if Griffon Forest is a must-take-a-car sort of place? I mean, you'd be looked at like a mad person if you turned up to Center Parcs without a car, is this the same sort of thing or will they not bat an eyelid at turning up on foot or in a taxi?

Actually, people go to center parcs without cars (bus, train, taxi etc) they have storage areas for luggage especially for people who don't come in their own cars.

Well, who knew! I've been enlightened. Only ever been in a car. It always seems pointless since it's just thrown into the car park for the weekend anyway!

I don't think anyone would notice to be honest as everyone is too busy with the hot tubs. You would be able to get a taxi from York to Griffin Forest and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get there and its about a 15 minute walk from the cabins to a bus stop if you didn't fancy any of the walks when you're there.
