I got some pump style shoes from Clarks that had just a tiny heel but can't find them on the website now! These are pretty similar, though.

I've found some Scholl flip flops to be very comfy. I think they were part of the Orthaheel range and I can't heap enough praise on the Hydrastep flip flops, which were on clearance when I looked a week or two ago.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

I love Gabor shoes I bought my first pair for a wedding in 1992 and they still look great, I don't wear that pair much as they are not a colour I often wear but over the years I have bought loads more in various styles from boots to sandals and all my work shoes are Gabor.

I am glad you are seeing a chiropodist, I see mine every 8 weeks or so and she makes my feet feel wonderful, I get heavy build up of thick hard skin on the balls of my feet and I stand up a lot doing my job, sometimes if we have been doing an exhibition I end up feeling like I am walking on blades, not nice.

Hope you find some shoes that suit you, I love shoes...

TBH I am really looking forward to my appointment! My feet are hurting and I am currently fighting the urge to attack the dead skin on my heels with a foot file because I want the chiropodist to see them how they are :(
    xx
I have realised I will never play the Dane! :(

Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!! :p

Don't do it they can cause damage to the skin, the chiropodist I use said foot files and ped eggs are really bad in the wrong hands! The are trained to do it properly and will make you feel wonderful

A low heel is better than completely flat shoes. As a prior poster said shoes that cover and support the front of the feet are better so you don't have to claw your toes to keep them on. I find that shoes which provide some cushioning under the soles are much more comfortable when you're on your feet for extended periods are much better than those without. For that reason I can't bear to wear Converse: they make me feel like I'm walking barefoot. I had a very nasty experience with a corn a while back and it was caused by wearing shoes which were too narrow. They hurt my feet but I stupidly had to wear them because they were so pretty. And expensive.

At the moment my most comfy shoes are my Merrell Mocs, they feel just like a pair of slippers no matter how long I'm on my feet. They were worth every single penny

I thinks it's such a shame that so many of the brands that are good for the feet are a bit 'grannyish'. I love the look of ballet pumps but can't cope with the totally flat ones as I don't walk well in them and feel as if I'm tipping backwards. Anyone recommend flat shoes with a small heel that look as good as ballet pumps?

Clarks cocoa creme look basic but pretty. Only a very tiny heel so I'm not sure if it's enough for you but here... http://www.clarks.co.uk/find/keyword-is-cocoa+creme

I've seen them do lots of colours, they had some nice turquoise ones once but the raspberry are nice atm!

Agree 100%. Both Mrs. Redped & I have had several pairs of Merrell Jungle Mocs, and they are really comfortable. They do them for both men & women, although tbh they look the same.

I'd also recommend Eccos, again the pairs I've had have been great - comfortable & supportive, even after a long day. Don't know what they're like for women though, although I'd assume they'd also be good.

I also like Ecco shoes - not cheap though, but better for my wide feet.
Fly Flots are also comfortable and give good support, their summer sandals are lovely.
Try Pavers shoe shops if you've got one in your area, they sometimes discount heavily.
    Normal people worry me.

Oh the arguments DD and I have over shoes! It drives me potty that I can't find any stylish sandals for her to wear (or any at all generally) which won't wreck her feet. She's a size 4 and she's 9. The trouble is nobody else in the family bothers about feet. She sees her 5 year old cousin running around in the flattest flat gladiators (awful shoes) and she really wants a pair. I took her into Asda and said "Fine, you choose then if you know what's best!" She was crying and sobbing because she wanted these horrible gladiators but they hurt her feet. We got the most comfrtable and best fitting sandals in the shop- a pack of white socks and told her not to leave the house again without socks on and her dolly shoes- too much rubbing. At least her dolly shoes are supportive.

I saw a young girl in the queue for the loos and she had some not too awful gladiator shoes on which actually had a raised sole but she couldn't remember where she bought them. Shame that :(

9-year old girls tend to know it all don't they ;)? Mine has all sorts of shoes/boots/sandals etc - she does surprise me though by wearing her Clarkes shoes without any complaints at all for school. I won't let her buy or wear anything with a heel more than one inch high - its amazing to me how small they make (in my opinion) completely inappropriate shoes for little girls.
