removing very sticky residue from UPVC

I had double sided velcro tape round my patio doors that the fly screens were attached to but when I took them off there is a layer of sticky glue attached to the upvc frame. I have tried scraping it off with limited success, using WD40 on it (as it is upright it drips off quicker than I can rub/scrape it) and have tried…

I have got the worst of it off or so it seems until I go to wipe it with a cloth and it appears again. I will give steam and the scraper a go. I wouldn't have minded so much but the fly screen wasn't even that good at keeping wasps out!
