PARCELS2GO (Avoid at all costs)

What a nightmare this company are, please everybody out there avoid them at all costs.
I ordered a collection of two parcels for delivery, they were going to two different addresses, I Double labelled these up for the courier to collect the next day, which he did. (these were ebay sales by the way). Two days later one of the buyers emailed me saying he didnt think this is the right item he won, I thought he was being abit moody and was trying it on because he didnt like the item. Anyway the next day the other buyer emailed me saying she too had the wrong item and they had left the package in the rain on her doorstep, luckily a neighbour spotted it.
So I emailed the first buyer back to apologise and I asked him what labels he had on his package. He had the two that i had put on for the other buyer, he also had a label that parcels to go had put on which had his address on there, so this is clearly their fault.
I have now phoned them twice but they are taking no responsibility for this what so ever and say it is my own responsibility even though their courier put extra labels on after this left my house.
I have contacted watchdog and Ebay who promote these people on their website, my question is what else can I do ...
As it stand I am going to have to refund my customers or at least one of them, as one has something better than they order and one has something of less value.
any help on this issue would be appreciated

sorry to hear that , i ended up in a similar position with p4d.co.uk they guarantee their delivery times but would not refund me when they delivered two items late. of course your situation is a lot worse. i contacted them and they would not play ball stating that they cannot guarantee items to or from highlands and islands of scotland and that i should expect things to go much slower (strange coz i don't live in highlands and islands!? and even stranger that one item i sent arrived on time) anyway i paid with paypal but they would not help me either because it was a service i paid for not an ebay item. sorry that doesn't give you much help , but i will watch this thread with interest.

with p4d.co.uk they only arrange for another company , in this case tnt, to pick it up and deliver it for them. is this the case with parcels2go aswell?

I posted about parcel2go in the ebay section last week. I used them a lot as I sell a bit on ebay also but last time I had a nightmare with them 3 days of non pickup...them blaming me...them not seemingly bothered. DHL (the firm parcel2go use) confirmed they never got my pickup's despite my confirmation emails from parcel2go! I gave them up as a bad job. Won't be using them again!

Thanks, I really needed to get this off my chest. I am still so angry with this complete disregard for their customers.

There must be something else I can do, Does anyone know if I can report this company to trading standards, I don't know alot about trading standards so don't have a clue.

I really want to get the word out about this company that they are bad news and people should really avoid them.
  • Why is it that these companys can get away with such awful service. I sent a parcel abroad to my son for christmas (as I thought) and it only got as far as Barking, Essex. The response from UPS, " It's lost!" It only went from my house to the warehouse in Barking, about 5 miles away!
  • littlel.....you can always contact trading standards if you have concerns about a companys performance. You need to contact your local trading standards who will give you advice. However, if there is a case to answer they will not investigate but will pass all the information onto the local trading standards where the company is based. If you haven't got the packaging it is probably worth trying to retrieving it from your customers which will clearly show that you have labelled the items correctly. If you can then prove that it was the courier who put the extra labels on and then delivered them to the wrong address you will have a solid case for taking legal action against them. Your first port of call should however be either trading standards or your local Citizens advice bureau for advice. They will probably advise you to send via recorded delivery a letter outlining your complaint before taking the matter further.
    Trading Standards
    Citizens advice bureau
    Small Claims procedure

As for parcel2go - you can always tell how good a company is with how it deals and resolves complaints and parcel2go aren't very good at dealing with complaints!
  • i can understand the frustration one feels when one hires a company to deliver a few parcels which either arrive late, damaged or in some cases lost or delivered to the wrong address.

last year i brought a widescreen tv of a fella on ebay and when it arrived i could not believe anyone would pack a television set in the way he did!
first of all the box he packed it in was way too big
and for packing he used a few bits of the white packing things which wasnt enough to stop the tv moving about.
the rest of the packing consisted of scrunched up newspaper and get this!....a pillow!!!!
when the tv arrived the first thing the delivery man said to me was....whatever you brought..its f****D!
i felt so angry and humiliated and felt like sending it back.
anyway the driver helped me carry the box upstairs and i could feel the tv wobbling from side to side.
anyway when i opened the box it was so obvious it hadnt been packed properly!
i carried the tv into my hallway and switched it on and a picture came on so i thought oh well at least it works!
when i moved the tv into my living room and switched it on, there was no picture or sound.
i switched it on and off repeatedly, changed the fuse etc but it was all in vain.
so i had paid about £180 for a tv that was obviously damaged in transit because it wasnt packed properly.
i got on to the seller and of course he acted all suprised and blamed it all on the delivery man.
oh he must have just thrown it into the back of the van!
anyway to cut a long sad story short i ended up having to throw away the tv because it wouldnt work and i never recieved a penny back from the man i brought it from!
i did take steps to claim compensation but then i thought to myself, why should the delivery company be sued?
the fault surely lay with the seller because he failed to pack the tv properly and securely and by the time it arrived from devon to wembley it was on its last legs.
sending a tv in a box that was too big with newspaper for packing and a pillow is just carelessness in the extreme!
even 1 year on i feel cheated and i wish i had brought a claim against that swine.
and you know the strange thing is i brought another tv from another fella off ebay, the same make and this time it arrived and was packed perfectly!
but unfortunatly it didnt last more than 6 months before it packed up
so i had to throw that out too!
if thats not bad luck i dont know what is!
  • wow fifthfloorwinda, that's a pretty awful thing to happen. However, I think you should have tried to claim your losses from the courier. They should never have accepted the parcel in the first place. I'm sure the majority of them have to inspect a parcel to make sure it's properly packaged before they accept it, and if it's not they can refuse collection and the sender has to pay a fee.

    Parcel2go!!!! Parcels never go! lol
I waited in for 4 promised collection days. Which work out as every 3 days. They never arrived. Got a refund after being declined twice. Spent a fortune on phone calls to a call centre that put me in position number 8 and hung up on number 2!

    PARCEL2GO.COM ARE THE WORSE COMPANY
I will keep it simple, sent rare book to USA, cost 42 quid, plus the sold pirce of 31 quid, book got lost due to imcompetant collection, p2g blame fedex, fedex blame p2g, sent in claim, it was refused as you have to send it in within 28 days, took them that long to decide it was missing, have now put in appeal 3 weeks ago, just rang them 10 mins ago, phone was put down twice, got through second time, told ot ring back as person not in office who deals with the claims, although I clearly heard them whispering about the claim.
I am only ringing to see if the claim is goign through, if not I am off to get my money back through court and will be slapping on extras for phone calls, etc
I sold that book for charity and we are down by over £100
steer clear of p2g at all costs.

(sorry for any spelling mistakes, i type very fast especially when in a foul mood)
