Water heater on timer?

I'm looking for a timer to replace a fused spur. (I hgave had contact with the manufacturer and they recommend that one of the leeds should be on timer as we don't have eco7 in our new place) It would be technically possible to replace it with a switch and use a timer, but I doubt it would hold the 3kw (i'm still looking…

Hhm i wonder it also turns out it has a boost button. When I switch the power on & press boost I get hot water straight away. According to the manual both elemnts are 3kw. I wonder would it use more power to switch the bost on just for a shour vs heating the other element for 2hours at least? (Yes the other one is on thermostat of course)...
