Changing tel. no for my wanadoo

As I am due to move out of my house next week, I have a dilema -I am moving in with my daughter temporarily, but want to keep my e-mail with wanadoo. She is already set up with Tiscali. Is it possible to change my phone number to hers ?(even though she is using it for her Tiscali).

I can't keep my old tel no. as the new owners of the house will be registered to use it.

I only want to keep access to my e-mail until I move to Spain early Jan, unless, it would be possible to keep it longer, so I could access my e-mail from abroad (until I am able to set up a Spanish system).

Any suggestions or advice welcome

You have to "register" a number with them so the CLID can id you and let you connect. When we moved a couple of years ago, we had to stay with my mother for 6 weeks while our new house was finished. I just rang Wanadoo (now Orange) customer services and they were very helpful changing the number to hers and then again to my new one when we finally moved.

Just go to the Wanadoo website & use their webmail service through your daughters Tiscali account. No need to change phone numbers or anything.

Alternatively sign up for Wanadoo's pay-as-you-go service which will allow you to dial up from anywhere - if using your daughter's computer it will add an additional phone number for Wanadoo but should leave the Tiscali number alone so your daughter can still access her e-mail etc
  • Thanks Dennis and Alan - will give it a go!

Do you mean your on the Dialup Anytime option ?

No reason why you can't keep your Wanadoo address as it is. Moving house, phone number or indeed country doesn't stop you retrieving mail from a POP3 server although if your you are a dialup customer then you need to dial into Wanadoo at least something like once every 90 days or so or they will close it.

You could also access your e-mail via the Webmail feature as also mentioned.

If your going to send mail from your Daughters machine (via Tiscalli) then you will need to make sure you use the Tiscalli SMTP E-mail server for sending e-mails (if you use webmail to send that doesn't come into it).
