On Christmas Day last year our toilet got blocked with paper etc, we cut a long length off an old garden hosepipe and stuck that down to clear the blockage, it worked!!
    thats a really good idea!!!
You could even try and tape a footpump to the end so it blows air thru!!!

I bought a syringe plunger type thingy from a DIY store, which forces water out when you press down the plunger, which worked for us.

Sometimes the scented block holders that click over the pan become dislodged and they go down into the trap of the pan and spring open and catch ,then all future waste collects .A wire coat hanger could hook it out ,plunge with an old style mop whilst using hot water softens the plastic and it loosens. The other option is pan removal, last resort.Have a look in Wickes or plumbers merchants they have flexi wire devices.
For it to keep reoccurring makes me feel that something is stuck ,could even be a child's toy.

Also have a look in the manhole cover outside could be a back -up,at least you can rod that.

Yes we did! We just pushed it down a few times and it broke up the blockage, it didn't take too long either. You can imagine our panic when we realised it was blocked on Christmas Day with our relatives about to turn up... it was the only thing we could think of to do at the time!

If anyone has any blocked drains, get £20 out of your pocket and go and buy a set of drainage rods, plenty of disposable towels and bin liners, a large bucket, some scrubbing brushes and some jeys fluid and or bleach.

    Then do your worst.

I would also suggest investing in 20 pounds worth of drain rods. I find that it is easier and probably more hygienic to lift the drain cover and rod from the outside. Wears rubber gloves and start with just the rods, then screw tools on once the worst is cleared. Afterwards I flush the toilet lots of times so that the rods are cleanish, lay them on a concrete path and give them a thorough wash with disinfectant and hot water.
