Well, my brother had same prob last week - he'd been unwitting flushing those anti bacterial toilet wipes down every couple of days, not realising that they don't disintegrate like loo roll does. Consequently, a blocked loo!
I was all for buying some drain rods from Wickes (£15) but saw a different sort of plunger in Wilko's (if you have one near you) which was £4.99 and had a small attachment for sinks and baths - AND and a large attachment for loos - which is quite rare cos of the angled shape of the loo etc.
But a couple of plunges on that did the trick, so worth a shot for a fiver - saved on drain rods, or worse, having to pay a plumber.0 -
Remember your rubber gloves for fishing out the nasties though:D
Never before had i been so close to my brother's dippy doos! and never again either!:rotfl:0 -

Hi
My DS caused a similar issue .... a few weeks ago. I managed to clear it with a couple of kettles of hot water. Not boiling as it may crack the pan. Did not smell great and when flushed the water came right up near the top but slowly drained away. Each time draining quicker until the blockage disolved and disappeared.
I now buy value loo role as it is much thinner and the kids think they are using the same amount but less chance of blockage. We only have the posh stuff when granny comes to stay!!!
Cheaper too.

Those bleach holders that hook over the rim are not a good idea with kids around!!! It will hook up further along and out of reach.

if its not due to paper etc you may sadly have a blocked outside drain which may only be affecting 1 toilet at the moment. I had the same thing some time ago with just 1 toilet. It turned out that some tree roots had grpwn into the drain itself and was only letting a small amount of liquid out , over time with solid waste etc it backed all the way up. Luckily I claimed on my household insurance for it but hopefully yours will not come to that.0

I had the bathroom sink blocked, used my pressure washer to unblock.
My friend had their toilet blocked so suggested that they also use the
pressure washer.They did and it cleared the blockage.Worth a try.0 -
