Hi, first time poster, long time lurker.
Well I need a little help. Im living at home with my mother and shes trying to get out of debt, un black listed etc.
Well a year ago a friend from work, phone contract was up and he was going to end it. But instead I rang t-mobile up and said id like to carry on the contract(offered a nice deal), under my name and address. now a year later im getting letters through the door from debt collecting companies titled to my friend. theyre threatning to come to my house etc.
the letters are for things like a mobile phone(totally unrelated) hes offed and a gym he joined, both high ammounts.
Ive rang them up first time it happened explained the situation told them his address(he said too) and I asked them to delete my address from their info, they said no bother.
What I want to know is how theyve managed to get and why are they sending these letters to my house.
Thanks, Peter

Looks like your 'friend' just used your address fraudulently instead of his.
Another scenario: some third party used mixed details of both you and your friend to commit fraud.
Offered to whom?the letters are for things like a mobile phone(totally unrelated) hes offed
If it was the same mobile and contract that you said above, why is it 'unrelated'?0 -
offed - bumped it off
The one that the bill came for was his phone with orange that he didnt pay, which was after i took over the t-mobile contract
i took over a t-mobile contract that was about to end that he had and paid, and wasnt going to renew. about a year ago
I dont believe there is any foul play.0
