Sorry to have been a misery last night...my Mum has been in hospital and when I saw her yesterday it just turned on the tears....which I managed to keep to myself until I got home....I`m much better today & thankyou so much Kit:A, Steve:A & Susan:A for the FB messages...it really helped.

Have you eaten all the chocolate Kit? I have just got a big bowl of ice cream out the fridge and would have been nice with some chunks of chocolate on top!

Hiya guys - no, I'm not asleep yet but I have been relaxing. I wasn't online very long on the train up as I started chatting to fellow passengers and that passed the time quickly

I went down to see Mam with my brother at 11.30 am and she was sound asleep, but obviously from the tablets they'd given her - it was definitely a drug induced sleep - but at least that meant she got the rest she needed to recover. The nearest we got to waking her was a quick opening of her eyes when we opened her cards and we showed them to her, a smile when she saw them and then her eyelids fell closed again. I managed to get a tiny bit of her dinner down her - the tip of a spoonful three times but she wasn't really awake so we left that. When nurse brought her liquid paracetamol and antibiotics, between us we managed to wake her enough to take them, but again she was fast asleep as she was still licking her lips

My brother left to go shopping around 1.30 pm and I stayed to keep an eye on her, until my Sis arrived with my neice at 2.30 pm. Mam sort of woke up and they gave her their cards but she drifted asleep again. My neice left to go shopping around 3.30 pm and my Sis & I just sat talking at Mam's bedside. Mam started to open her eyes for slightly longer periods and, by the time her dinner came at 4.45 pm, she was more or less fully awake. Enough anyway to eat a bowl of poached egg and baked bean sauce, and as she had not had any lunch, they brought another bowl and she ate most of that too, though you could see she'd rather be asleep. She had her meds just after that and the nurse joked with her, saying "Look at all these cards, I wonder whose birthday it is" and Mam said "I don't know" so we all said "it's yours!!" and she giggled and smiled. I asked her how old she was, but she said she didn't know, so I asked if she was 60 and she said yes!! Then I said no, you're not, you're 92 and she pulled a face and said "never!!" and giggled again. The nurse then put her nebuliser mask on her and while that was on, we could see her almost falling to sleep again, which she did within 5 minutes of the mask coming off, so we made sure she was settled and comfy and left her to sleep at 6 pm

I have just been sitting chatting with my brother and watching tv with him - connect, university challenge, coast, and a great docu on BBC4 about Regency Britain which was fascinating. I do watch a better class of tv when I am up here with my super-intelligent brother :p:p

I came upstairs to go to bed but then realised that I hadn't yet unpacked so I did this and sorted my things out, so just thought I would report in here and then get to sleep

I am glad you got the charge refunded at the bank Kit - good for you for ringing hun

So I am going to have a very quick look at the glitches/bargains threads and then try to get to sleep - I don't think I will have any problem getting to sleep mind you, as the travelling, and the kwells, make me very tired

Night Night everyone - hope you all had a good day today and an even better one tomorrow

I had a loooog loooong lovely sleep and a loooooooooooooong lie-in so feel human again this morning :p

Mam was shouting this morning when my neice got there but settled down which company, and when my brother went for lunch she cleared her plate and ate a big pudding, 2 biccies and some white choc bottons so she is back to 'normal'. The nurse said she had been ok today. I am going down now so she has a bit more company and then my sis will join me from 4.30 till about 6.30 pm, when I run her home

Hope everyone is OK - I'll be on here tonight after dinner :D
