Hiya guys - still recovering from the chillies in the chicken & rice meal my sister made for tea   boy was it hot   very nice though

I had lost half a pound at slimming class which is OK seeing as I'd had that full cooked breakfast on the train this morning as well as chocolate yesterday at the car boot
and Mam was fine when I got down to see her, smiling but sleepy

Kit, Froogs is quite right about using those comparison web-sites but go through Quidco or TopCashBack and get some cashback on the deal too
Beanie, I do hope you and your son can get his uni stuff sorted for the best

Morning everyone
yes, it's me, at this time of the morning

I got up at 8 am as my sister and BiL were up and getting ready to go off to Blackpool with the girls - they left to pick up their grand-daughters at 9.15 am. They are staying in a caravan and can take it over as soon as they get there, so are scooting straight over will take about 2 1/2 hours and make something to eat as soon as they get there
So I am settled in nicely here and now have the place to myself ...... now where did they put all that wine they got in the Tesco wine glitch at the weekend
My brother will be seeing Mam at lunch time and I will be down there tonight
Froogs - I didn't know you could get a Kindle App for netbooks - tell me more please .......... could I do it on my laptop? Though I do know what you mean about wanting to have a book in your hands. I actually started to read a book last night. I haven't read books for ages and ages but had a half hour read in bed last night, so enjoyed that
Beanie, Kit is right, you stop apologising and keep telling us about your son's trouble over finding a uni place ............. we [STRIKE]are really nosey[/STRIKE] really care
so you keep ranting and asking and we will keep listening and helping when we can :A

You sure can 3Dogs
I think this is the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000423913&!!!!!googhydr-21&hvadid=13711002594&ref=pd_sl_1e2marbvb_b If it doesn't work you can find the app on the Amazon kindle website.
The book I'm reading was a freebie (pointless romance) but I noticed little woman and many old classics are free too. I'm going to read little women next as never read it.
Hope you're ok Kit once you're at work it'll be like you've never been away and then the time will fly and you'll be back home again. What do you have to go in for
it's the holidays
I've took our gas reading for this month. We've spent £38 without any heating on. I'm am petrified at how we're going to afford to heat this house in the winter. We already owe money on our account

Great, thanks for that link Froogs, I will investigate that later today :T :T but   to the gas costs at your house   Lord knows how much that would be in the winter - probably find some tips about cutting your usage on the Old Style forums, if you have found them yet. Do you have your water heating on all the time, or just on and off to keep it going - people say it is cheaper to leave on all the time, but we just have ours on for 3 x half hour periods a day. Our washer is cold fill as most modern ones are now, and we have an electric shower and no bath, so the only hot water from the tank we need is the kitchen sink and bathroom basin, so I sometimes feel I am heating water in the tank to dry clothes off in the airing cupboard

Hope you get on OK at work today Kit - keep busy, get your work done and it will be time to come home before you know it, and you can then relax

The washer in this house is old and uses hot water. You can imagine the washing I have to do
The annoying thing is I have a near brand new washer of my own in the garage that runs on cold water but landlord won't let me install it.
Also the water has to be run quite a bit to get the hot water to run through to get washed, that sets the boiler off straight away. I would say we waste 3 mns of gas just by trying to get a wash in warm water.
The bath water runs very slowly meaning that to get a fair amount for the girls means the boiler is running for ages.
There is no warm place in this house at all. No airing cupboard. It's a really cold and frustrating house to live in. I hope we move soon!!!!!
The girls are going to try to have a shower together so that should save a fair bit and I'm going to have to lessen their bath/shower frequency (really ridiculous I know!) a flannel and bowl of water for a wash down. My grandma would be looking in on dismay - progress?
I won't let it beat me but I'm dammed sure I'm not going to line British Gas' pockets. Off to Oldstyle I go.0
