Oooh - look what I found. This is from a website of a Swedish dog behaviourist Anders Hallgren (I have had the pleasure to meet him):

    Dogs and mailmen (1975)
This was a very small study, consisting of 12 dogs that were aggressive against mailmen. I conducted it just to test a simple training idea I had. It was only published as an article in a dog magazine (Vi Hundägare). Every day I sent an envelope, addressed to the dog in the household, containing a treat. All dogs in this study associated the treat-envelope with the mailman and after two weeks they were no longer aggressive. Since that time, this has been the most used and the most effective training method for this problem.

Mmnnn in our case, that might just make Billy more anxious to get to the mail :o but very interesting. The clicker came today so Mr 3Dogs has been reading the instructions ;) but he has been trying harder with Billy and he has seen an improvement in certain ways :j

Hiya Kit, Beanie, Aesop & Boult - nice to see you all on here tonight

That fall does not sound good at all Beanie - hope you don't ache too much hun:(

And Kit, good on you for following the doc's advice :D

I had a lovely mooch around Newcastle this morning, bought a top at Primark .... some knickers at M&S well you have to don't you? .... and nothing much else apart from eye cream for Mr 3Dogs to hide his wrinkles ;), some fruit and meat from the lovely indoor Grainger Market, and ................ a £10 meal deal from M&S too. I'm taking the red wine from this to my sister's tomorrow night as she has just invited me for curry :j :j

My neice got back from camping just after I got in, but only to do a couple of loads of washing, send hubbie for some shopping and then take Holly to her swimming lesson, and then they were going straight back up the Northumberland coast to the caravan site for a couple of more days with the weather being so good. So I spentalmost 4 hours keeping my great-neices occupied while their parents were busy, which was great fun. We did some spelling and writing, then played with toys and Holly did a Powerpo1int presentation on my laptop which she has been learning how to do at school, but couldn't practice as they don't have the software on their laptop. So I now have a presentation on Dunstanbough Castle saved on my laptop :D

Mam not too good today :( could hear her yelling as I entered the unit - she saw me coming up the corridor and yelled "Oh, Susan, thank God you're hear, thank you. I wanted to see you to tell you because I can't tell 'them' " but never did tell me anything. The nurse told me that they'd had to clear her table and move it from her as she was tossing everything out of the bed yelling "I can't get to sleep, where's Susan, I want Susan". Had a distressing 10 mins or so, where she cried and moaned in pain, but she then settled to eat her dinner and pudding, though she was seeing people and horses (???) in the room, and 'a man leaning over the little one'. She got worried when I got ready to leave, so I stayed another 15 mins and she was ok when I left, but expect her to start shouting again later tonight and most likely to have a sleepless, noisy night and a disturbed Saturday, followed by a sleepy Sunday. Seems to fall into some sort of pattern :(

Thank hun - my brother-in-law makes a delicious curry so I am really looking forward to that tomorrow  Mind you, I've just eaten my M&S cajun spiced chicken breats with roaast veg, and a large salad and that was gorgeous, though rather spicy - but it did say it was going to be spicy, the name of the dish says it all :o

  • I am fine. Keep falling asleep as blood sugars are not too good. Dr's have given me strict instructions and i am following them. I quite like being ordered to rest. I haven't been to London this week as i was too tired but i will try next week.

    How are you?

    Good

Been in London all day with friends.

We went to Science Museum as free, took lunch for me and DS, so very mse, had to buy a bottle of water as DS wanted some and I hadn't brought any.

then went to Princess Diana Memorial Park, again free.

DS had a wail of a time, got completely soaked, so just before we were leaving, complete change of clothes :)

Only problem was owe Oyster 90p :( we came through one station which is cheaper than the one we returned by. If it had been me and DS would have taken bus to a cheaper station and returned that way but with friends so couldn't suggest it.

So great day out for £5, 99p for bottle of water and £1.20 for ice cream for DS.

    well should be £5.90... travel.

sorry to hear about your fall, Beanie.

I fell over on tube on way home. I was sorting out kids and tube moved off, and I fell backwards, nothing to grip onto!

People were lovely on tube, everyone helped me up! friend came down the tube to get me.

Asked me if I was ok, said I have plenty of padding on bum, don't worry :rotfl: and thanked everyone and said "it can only happen to me!"
