Amex - Preload?

Hi everyone

I have a large (£3000) purchase to make and would like to make it on my AmEx Platinum Credit Card so that I can benefit from the cashback.

Unfortunately however my credit limit is only £2,300.

My plan is to "pre-load" the card so that the available funds to spend equal £3,000. However I know that some card companies don't like/won't let people do this.

Does anyone know if AmEx are one of them? If so could I spend, say, half the money, pay it off straight away (before bill etc), then spend the other half?

Any help much appreciated.

Pretty sure they wont like it and will either reject or freeze card
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Your plan is thwarted by condition 14.1(v).
...spend, say, half the money, pay it off straight away (before bill etc), then spend the other half?
Condition 37.2 would stop you earning the full cashback unless the two transactions were made in different statement periods.
