no but i wanna make sure lol don't want the council evicting him

I can't see anything there about anyone staying over. I think you'll need to contact your council or ask him if you can see the tenancy.

If he's got nothing to hide he'll show you. If he won't show you he doesn't want you there...

I must say it all sounds a bit dodgy.. what red-blooded young fella wouldn't want his gf staying over? "Sorry love, you can't stay over for a year"?? Even council tenants are allowed a bit of nooky. Either he's the most law-abiding, council-fearing person there ever was... or he likes sleeping alone.

Maybe he's worried his wife wouldn't like it?

Why can't you use the expression "want to" rather than "wanna"?

I don't have a council house but I was under the impression (from council tax sole occupancy thing) that you can stay but it has to be less than half the time & to be sure it shouldn't be always (as in every single weekend) you should also ensure that you don't have too much stuff there - yr own wardrobe etc. Just in case they investigate, it would show that you stayed there, not lived there! But I am no expert!!

I'd just ring the council-no harm in asking, maybe don't give your boyfriends details though!

Stay every night if you want. As long as you live somewhere else.

I believe there are certain restrictions in some council housing e.g a friend of mine lived in accommodation which was designated for women, so there were limits on how long and often male friends/family members/partners could stay, and I'm assuming that there are other facilities which have specifics such as this written in where they apply. I agree that you need to see his specific tenancy to ensure that you are doing the right thing.
