Jet2.com Charged me twice

Hi,
At the end of the booking process for Jet2 it told me 'there is a problem dealing with your request, please start again by visiting our website'. I went througn thebooking process again and then received 2 emails with 2 different booking references, basically the flights had gone through twice. I telephoned them immediately on a very expensive call line. They told me that they could not cancel the booking and after some debate they said I could but would have to pay a £40 admin. fee to cancel the double booked flights.
The rep said I would have been told to contact Jet2 by phone when I got the error but I did not and I have the printed screen to prove so.
I told them the fault was with the website and they would not have it and someone is calling me back in 48 hours.
Has anyone had this problem before and do I have any rights here?

This does happen from time to time, not just with Jet2. It seems that the front end (i.e. the website) of the booking system has a failure, but the booking has actually been made.
Unfortunately you've learned the hard way. Hopefully Jet2 will come to their senses, realise this is a genuine error and cancel one of the bookings with a full refund. If they do not, I would suggest disputing the transaction with your card provider?0 -
Thanks for the reply - Jet issues a refund of the double booked flights0

The same thing happened to me exactly but they will not refund the £40 admin charge. They say I have to write to costomer department. They will not tell me how this happened and I did not recieve an e mail for duplicate booking. Only realised when the credit card statement came. Did Jet 2 give you a refund for admin.0
