As with everything organised by DVLA it is hit and miss. Tax on line, no forms needed.

So much easier to tax online, No queue. No messing with the post office trying to decide if your
document is a copy/scan/fax. Question why your MOT is for 13 months.

the DVLA look at the MID database to check that insurance is on the vehicle

check your car is on the database here

I would chase that up if it happens again. Use the Askmid website to see if its showing as insured.

There should not be a problem if its showing as insured there.

Quinn were one of the last companies to get on board with the MIB database. I thought they'd cleaned their act up but maybe not.

My tax renewal reminder came in the post on Monday. Not like it really matters as I tax it online. But I suppose it saves digging out the V5C for the reference number. :)

Also I noticed on mine that it had the note about the fee may change due to the Budget, but it has the new increased fee on already!

My roadtax went up again this year.

Was £79:95, I think, the first six months, but I put on a year for £150, the last couple of times I have put on 6 months, it is now £90 for six months!

Not good when you consider I bought the car in late 2008!

Go to the post office with the V5, MOT and insurance certificate, fill out a V10 and do it at the counter, simple.
