Paying for Handset on Contracts
Being a bit tight. Looking to get the following deal on the HTC Desire HD:
18 months, 600 minutes, unlimited texts , 500 MB mobile internet data for £30-35 per month.
With this deal the phone costs £99 which I don’t fancy paying. Anyone got any tips on how I could get it a bit cheaper? Im with Vodafone and can’t really move.

Thought of going through p4u or Carphone warehouse for your upgrade? They can sometimes do a better deal than the network?0

Any reason for this? For example, CPW's virtual network Talkmobile use Vodafone.
Also, at d-a-p a free HD is available on Vodafone 18-24 month contracts starting from £30 p/m before redemption and TCB/Quidco cashback.
what is this?
Bit of a long story. Singed up to a new contract on Saturday but before i had the chance to select my handset i got cut off (lose of phone signal). I called back and spoke with a sales member who advised that my order had already been processed and i would
I was originally on a sim only contractor but my blackberry broke beyond repair. Called Vodafone and they agreed to cancel my contract provided I sign up for a new one where I would get a phone. I agreed a new contract with them on Saturday but while calling from my partners phone I lost signal. I had agreed a deal in terms of minutes and costs etc however I was still discussing which type of phone I wanted. I called back to continue the conversation obviously with another sales rep to be told my order had been proceeded with the standard HTC Desire. The guy I spoke with advised that once the phone is delivered, call them back and explain the situation and they will arrange something. So im more or less in a contract but don’t fancy paying £99 for the HD phone.0 -

you should be able to cancel and return the handset

dial-a-phone and Desire HD
And if you already have a contract with Voda and a handset from them, I don't understand the original question: "how I could get it a bit cheaper?"
sorry, don't think ive explained myself too well.
I agreed a deal with Vodafone on Saturday for a £30 a month (600 min, unlimted texts and 500 mb on internet date) however before I could confirm the type of phone I wanted, the call was disconnected (I was on my partners mobile and I lost signal). I called back to Vodafone and one of the sales rep advised that my order had been proceeded with an HTC Desire. I advised that chap that I was really looking to get the Desire HD as apposed to the standard Desire. As the order had already been processed he was unable to do anything and he advised that I wait for the desire to be delivered, call back and advise that you now want the HD.
I received the standard Desire the other day and called Vodafone to explain the situation. Advised them that I really wanted the HD but was told I would need to pay a further £99 and put my contract up from £30 to £35.
Basically looking to avoid paying as much as £99 for the phone. Is this possible?0 -
I can be missing something, but I still don't understand why you cannot cancel the order altogether and why your "can’t really move."
As I said above,Basically looking to avoid paying as much as £99 for the phone. Is this possible?
It will be cheaper after the cashback and even more cheaper after the redemption if you claim it....at d-a-p a free HD is available on Vodafone 18-24 month contracts starting from £30 p/m before redemption and TCB/Quidco cashback.
Probably better deals are available for other networks at d-a-p or elsewhere.0
