The only tip I can give you is DONT
because it`s illegal unless you`re a CORGI registered fitter.0 -
Really??? Im not doing it for any payment? Is this correct?Bismillah0

I've fitted a gas cooker in the sense that I plugged the ignition in to the wall and connected the gas pipe with some of that special tape that you put on the thread of the connection.... and then fit the cookers rubber pipe to.....
I had no idea that it was illegal...I thought that was if you were 'installing' a gas supplied item rather than just 'connecting' itI told the chap in the plumbing shop what the tape was for and he didn't say that I was doing anything wrong.
Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
Hi,
Irrespective of the legalities I would strongly suggest if you have never done any work like this before then PLEASE contact a CORGI registered engineer.
Its not just a case of plugging it in! There are various tests which need to be done in respect of the Gas Safety Regulations on your supply and also to carry out the correct commissioning procedure of the appliance.

Unless of course, that it is !!
Mine has a flexible "rubber" hose with a bayonet fitting on the end.
Accordingly my gas pipe ends in one of these.
I regularly disconnect and reconnect my gas cooker to clean it and around it
My gas tumble drier has exactly the same capability !
When we moved house I disconnected both appliances and re-installed them at our new home, which had 2 of the same fittings, without any help from a CORGI man. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

If you have the flexible hose with bayonet fitting, you do not need any tools.
It has a "collar" that turns through 90 degrees after either pushing it into (or pulling it out of) the gas supply part of the fitting a short distance.
It's a bit like the push and twist when removing/inserting a light bulb.
You don't even need to turn the gas off.
The male/female plug/socket arrangement self seals upon disconnection.
The hose and the pipe fitting are readily available at B&Q, Wickes etc. for about £5 each so if you do decide to get these fitted, don't get ripped off thinkng it (the parts) are going to cost a fortune. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93
