Tesco Mobile iPhone - Browsing & Wi-Fi Pass

My 12 month PAYG contract ends in 4 weeks. I want to keep the iPhone 3GS. I very rarely use the phone for calls or texts but I use it a lot for web browsing.

Tesco are offering me a Browsing & Wi-Fi Pass for £7 pm.

I would consider getting the phone unlocked if I could find a better data plan elsewhere. If I go this route how do I get the phone unlocked? Tesco iPhone service is provided by O2.

Any ideas or advice most welcome.

Eh? A PAYG phone does not have a contract.

Giffgaff PAYG Virgin Mobile PAYG are two that you can just use mobile data on as you can on many other PAYG .

I pay 20P for 20 MB per day and 20p per MB over that cap .

Thats with Giffgaff PAYG ( part of O2 so you may not need to unlock phone )

Macman, I think the OP meant the 12 months before the network will unlock the iPhone. If I remember correctly, all PAYG iPhones sold by networks can't be unlocked for the 1st year.

Three have a "sim-only internet" 30 days rolling contract which gives 2GB data for £5.11 a month

I bought it on PAYG so I am required to keep it for 12 months before the network will unlock the iPhone. 12 months data is included in the price.

GiffGaff, free mobile internet until 31 MAY, my 12 months finishes 1st week in June.

Tesco will unlock your iphone free of charge now your contract is almost up.Just call customer service.
