DNMS - thanks for starting us off!
Stitchy - We live vicariously through you! Good luck, and well done on the productive day.

So both my roommates have had some major cashflow issues - one got her her purse snatched (so no bank cards) and the other had bank account issues which meant she hasnt been paid for April yet. I lent them both money last week, but neither have gotten access to their money in the meantime. Very annoying for all involved! To be fair they have been living off pot noodles and arent taking the mic, but we are now all feeling pretty skint! Hopefully at least one will be able to pay me back tonight.

    Anyway, today I:
    • took public transport to work
    • will buy some last minute ingredients - there are likely to be riots tomorrow so we need to have enough food to not have to go out
    • check banking and update budgets
    • call vet to let her know the name of our road and my roomates number for when she arrives on Friday
    • cook dinner for friend instead of going out
    • put motorcycle into garage so the house is less attractive to marauding looter types, should it come to that!

    Have a good day, all!

    Morning all!

Thanks to DNMS for starting us off.
    Hope work's ok, stitchy.
La escocesa, thanks for that "one cup of tea" link. I think I needed it this morning. Kettle's on as I type.

Not too great a morning here, as one of the cats looks like he has fractured his patella (waiting on x-rays tomorrow). He's not insured - we've never insured cats until they got older in the past, but this is the first time ever we have been looking at a high vet bill - luck of the draw, I guess, and insurance is definitely on the cards now. I'm sure we can expect a nice hefty premium for this particular boy though!

OH and I are supposed to be going away this weekend (just to a place owned by the family, so very low spend, petrol aside), and we may still go, as we have people who will stay with the cats for parts of the day. But until we've had the x-rays, we won't really know if it'll be feasible to leave him. Honestly, I could cry. I feel so sorry for the poor cat, who loves outdoors and yet is stuck in here. I wish, when we reviewed the idea of insurance last year, we hadn't procrastinated about it. But there we are. He will be fine, when all's said and done, and we have learned our lesson. And because we are actually in control of the finances at last, this was not the awful shock it could have been, so there's good even in this.

    Anyway, on with the list:
    • continue tackling clutter in dining room
    • vacuum carpets
    • checked online banking
    • do some comps
    • do some surveys
    • lunch on leftovers
    • make bread
    • make lasagne with leftover ragu from yesterday, as we are all out doing different things at different times tonight, and it's an easy dish to cut into portions so people can help themselves!
    • work out where the vet money is coming from (not the credit card, that much is certain!)

Hope e everyone has a good day today :) Sorry for rambling ;)

Sorry to hear about your cat's injury. Hope that the x-rays show its not too severe. Let us know it goes. xx
