God that's crazy..17k!!! that's seriously unfair when you put it like that...sorry about your back LL as you say I suppose it's an excuse to take some time for yourself and rest though
My husband has decided to do the same degree with me which is lovely - I might get it done faster then him but we can support each other and keep each other on track.
Going to meet a friend who's done the same degree for coffee in 2 weeks and she's going to go over things with me and perhaps recieve some course notes and books - also had a chat with someone on forums who has given me some good advice about learning how to write academically.
It's all good I'm so excited....... and yea it would make more sense but this is me...I find a way to cram everything into the time I have I'm sure I'll make time even if eBay has to suffer for it.
People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Kaya. You do make me smile, you remind me of myself when I was younger - always in a hurry.....living at 100 miles an hour, Burning the candle at both ends.......and in the middle.......
Go girl, you'll find a way to do it if you want it badly enough.;)
Poor Guy. great news about the new pay deal. Tax......well it's just one of those necessary evils.........
Having said there might be some ways you can limit your tax bill, for example increasing your pension contributions ......
As well as my basic I used to get a (healthy) commission on every house I sold. Every third sale went straight to the taxman. I didn't get a look in. :rotfl:
When I used to train newbies I always started off asking "who wants to pay more tax?"
Most of them sat there dumbfounded .........however .the smart, hungry, ambitious go getters would yell out "count me in, or I do, or yes please"........
Realistically if you are on PAYE Then you haven't much say in how much tax you pay. If you are SE then you can legitimately organise your affairs to minimise your liability.
Well I Have been very good and resting nicely so hopefully will be a bit better tomorrow. It's been a very frustrating day because I had such plans.....
I'm afraid I'm not a patient patient.......:rotfl:0 -
Definitely possible. Just do your job silently & don't lose your focus.0

Well done0 -
Just thought I'd check in again to say that after a year of searching, I've finally been offered a new job and give notice next week!! It's a raise of £6,000 p/a and more responsibility, taking me into the "£30s" bracket which in chuffed about. My wife and I want to have kids soon and this will most certainly help.
Actually got offered 2 jobs on the same day and unfortunately have to let one of them down.0 -
Fantastic news, well done you.
Still struggling with my back I'm afraid, so just a quiet few days until things improve.
Hope you all have a great Easter.0 -
I can't wait for a few quiet days myself, taken 2 days off next weekend as this is day 14 in a row!! Needs must to make money but I'm fearing a burn out soon if I don't get a few days to switch off and not worry about work.
Got my target of how much to make this week(I'm on price work) so hopefully I can achieve that and roll on next payday, the 8th of April. Will get the bank balance building up after being so low recently.
Can't wait to bust this debt and get savingCan now be found in the Millionaire Challenge thread :beer:0 -
Hi all, I intend to get involved with this if I may.
It's time for action on my part. For too long I've been in a rut, intending to do stuff and not getting around to it. I've recently been getting into Minimalism and it's given me some extra energy and focus that I needed. I heartily recommend it. I hope to work on buiding real wealth, finding a way of earning money that I enjoy, focusing on health, and hopefully meet some great people too.0 -
Hello fellow millionaires in waiting.
Final savings tally for 1st April.........£6157, so smashed the original £5k target, and surpassed the revised target of £6k. I was hoping to get it nearer to £7k but March has been an expensive Month - wedding outfits, new shower, new fire, some new kitchenware and bed linen. It all mounts up.
Not sure but I'm doubting I will manage to save much for April and May - DS1s wedding, Holiday in Barcelona - paid for at least but still need spending money - DS2s 30th birthday........
I think I will End up just coasting along and then will start again in earnest in June.
Still feeling quite grim, back still very stiff and sore so haven't done much.
Hope you are all well.
Welcome Jack. I too am gradually becoming more minimalist. I agree adopting a simpler life does help you to focus. Less clutter, fewer distractions, more money in the bank.:rotfl:0
