Hey
We are selling our litle run about as we no longer need 2 cars but i have no idea how much to ask for it:o
Its a ford ka 1.3 petrol,R reg,manual,126,000 miles,6 month tax but no MOT,new clutch fitted last month approx 200 miles ago, very slight rusting around fuel cap, leather interior, part service history.
The only fault to my knowledge is the rear strut top bearings need replaced.
I don't want to over price it but have no clue as to how much to advertise it for.Any help you guys could give me?
Thanks

As much as you can get for it.
If the phone rings the minute the advert is available you underpriced it. No offers its too dear.
Only worth what someone is willing to pay. No MOT i wouldnt pay £200 for it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
It's worth sod all without a ticket on it.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

Put 12 months ticket on it and ask £800 ono, it's faultless and well specced so should fetch a fair price, perfect new driver's car.
Without MOT or failure sheet i agree with above, it's scrap value only.0 -
Compare with autotrader and ebay..
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/ford/ka/postcode/e13bb/radius/1501/sort/priceasc/fuel-type/petrol
http://motors.shop.ebay.co.uk/Cars-/9801/i.html?LH_BIN=1&Model=Ka&rt=nc&Car%2520Type=Standard%2520Car&_nkw=ford%20ka&_catref=1&_dmpt=Automobiles_UK&_fln=1&_sc=1&_sop=2&_ssov=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282
you will be lucky to get much more than scrap value without an MOT certificate.. if it only needs some strut top bearings, then do the work then sell it...0 -
+/- £60 as a scapper add +/- £500 with an MOT.0

Thanks everybody we were going to just scrap the car but to be honest with you it would be a shame to scrap it when it is in good condition for its age and runs perfectly. Not expecting anywhere near £500. Tempted to stick it on for offers only and see what we get offered. I will be taking the tax disc off as that cost me near £70 last week.0

stick an MOT on it, leave the tax on it - you will get back the value of the tax and MOT selling it with. removing tax to reclaim the money and trying to sell a motor without tax is a false economy if ever i saw one0

I hear what your saying but the car generally is in mint condition i am not just going to give it away regardless of the MOT. If i sell for £100 of course i am going to take the tax off.0 -

But as others have said even in mint condition, without an MOT it is almost worthless so you will be giving it away.
Why not put it in for MOT, places round here only charge £30 for the test at least then you will know where you stand0
