whilst connected via cable, check for updated drivers for her wifi card, you may find a recent update to something (e.g. in windows) has thrown other stuff out.
oh, and by the way, find the wifi switch on the laptop and check it's switched on, and you actually have a driver installed for it as it's one of the common ones missing after a re-install......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
sorry but can u tell me how to do this?
i know how to connect via cable!0 -
Disable your anti-virus and try to connect. A work colleagues son had this problem recently, turned out to be a setting in AVG that was at fault.0

Sounds like the wireless adapter is turned off or disabled? As Gunjack says, make sure it's switched on - the switch is sometimes very small and hidden on the side of the laptop. If that is switched on then we need to check what version of Windows etc you're using so we can direct you to the device manager to make sure your wireless adapter is installed correctly.0

It can be quite annoying to be caught out like this, er allegedly, not that I am speaking from experience or anything, nope not me :whistle:0 -
yep think it is swiched on! windows 7
i think it is a wireless prob as it is asking me to plug in ethnal cable! but i want wireless and my laptop working fine still! grrrrrr bet it is someyhing so simple0 -
so, unplug the ethernet cable, right-click on the network icon in the bottom-right of the screen, and click search for available networks. If the wifi is switched on, the lappy should see your network. Enter the wifi key where prompted and that should be it.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
