I seem to be waiting for payday now. I do have some money left and I am planning on what to do with the ebay money which as a family we decided should be used directly to benefit us as a family, so the result is we use half for days out, and half as investments in the future! We now have a grand total of £200 in savings bonds of one type or another. The night before payday any money left in the current account will be squirrelled away. This is going to be used as lump sum payments against the debts.
I really need some settlement figures through, but even if its the worst case scenario, I should be rid of at least 14k worth of debt in the next 2 months, thats pretty good. Roll on 20th July, and lets see where I am then!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Had a fairly good but tiring day, so im going to count up the loose change pot and pat myself on the back for collecting pennies.
Positives... valuation on house next week
PPI reclaim 2 in progress.
Decent settlement figure of 5 k against a 13k debt, but if the PPI comes through that will mean I need to pay 70 quid to settle it. Lets see how it goes...Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Payday tomorrow!!
RIGHT I have done my finance spreadsheet! I am making more progress, which is a GOOD!!!
On payday I shall be paying bills. Reducing my balances. Whatever I have left in my account tonight shall be put against the credit cards! Still doing ebay, decluttering and doing up the other house, trying to keep myself motivated by writing my diary, look at me, Im paying bills and trying to make positive steps...its all my debt I need to sort it!
I just need to get the house valued and some of these old bills PAID OFF!! Looking forward to tomorrow and paying some bills!!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Whoo paid another grand ish off the debts! Been travelling with work today so will get the expenses reclaimed asap... lots are selling on Ebay.... will sort the loose changeand add it to the pot.Trying to shift that debt!0

Good news all round with the settlement figures.
Paragon will settle for 3280, in repayment for an 8000 debt. Lloyds will settle for 5070 against 13000. So, for just over 8000 I can wave goodbye to 21000 worth of debt!! Will be well on course to realise my 30k gone this year!! And the rest!!!
Ive made some money on ebay, enough to buy a savings certificate in this issue from national savings. Its a "thing for the future" from money I wouldnt have otherwise had. Im making small savings month on month to get settlement figures on some other messy outstanding bits and pieces. Vodafone is a negative on the credit report, but not costing me in interest, so I am going to get rid of that too!
Tonight I count up the £2 pot, and the loose change, check my finances spreadsheet and do some more ebay. the future is looking rosier all the time!!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Ah, the joy of good news. My car is still off the road (had no car for a month now) relied on lifts from our dads. Hoping the car will be fdone today so can take the kids out somewhere (had a week off and been entertaining at home) to give them a break. The retention is paying out. We will be 2 debts down by next week, and I am reclaiming some ppi (estimating at least 2 grand off the lot) so will be good.
Onward onward.
Bit skint though, until the retention is through we have 100 quid available (though child support is due) but we do have about a grand on credit cards we can use to tide us over...Trying to shift that debt!0 -
You're doing so well! the size of those chunks your paying off! wowser! Keep it going and really try not to pay anything on CC, just scrimp a little
Keep up the amazing work!! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Cheers for that, I'm tired and 2 lagers to the wind... that's my whack these days Haha. The credit cards get paid off in full every month, and we will just use them til the money is through anyway. Had news its gone to bacs transfer, should clear by Tuesday!Trying to shift that debt!0

Hi - your doing great I've just subscribed to ur thread so I can keep up with how your getting on and, if I'm honest, to give me a bit of motivation too - I've got debts we've been plugging away at for years but I too am in a better position to start working towards putting some offers in for settlements, I need to stop being lazy n get e-baying and like u start saving the change etc I've been very lax lately so here goesFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

Thanks dottyanne! Im sure you can keep me motivated too. :-) I am back at work after a week off, so can update this in my break. Well, its my birthday, but as yet the bacs transfer hasnt materialised in the account. I had hoped to celebrate with wiping off some serious debt, but no matter. Ebay sales over the weekend were alright, and we made £20. Its better than nothing... I try and list as many things as I can and just keep it all ticking over.
Ive got company tonight and must try and iron and get some things tidied up, as well as packaging up and sending the ebay, so I wont be able to update my figures, I can do that tomorrow, or I may wait until the money drops in and ive cleared some debts!! also had some communication about the PPI reclaim, its all looking rather good, so with any luck some more money will come back and we can put that against debts too. My car is still off the road, and the bloke who is fixing it is meeting with problem after problem. Its starting to get me down, and if its not done tomorrow I might have a paddy. I got some money for my birthday, and I am going to invest it. isnt that restrained? I shall do a mini declutter, and then see what else I can sell this week, feeling a bit flat being back at work and just praying for the money to come through!
Right, need car repair done and money through today!Trying to shift that debt!0
