Still not got mine...joining in the churchmouse & echo foot stamping:rolleyes: It probably is down to Royal Mail around here, I've had 2 parcels go astray in the last 3 weeks:mad: One was a christmas pressie CD & Asda are kindly sending another copy free of charge but the other was one of those freebie penguins for my son which a nice friendly person from freecycle had offered to him & I can't replace, plus I feel really bad for the nice person who sent it:mad:

I pre-ordered it from amazon and although i have had other things from the same order, this hasn't been dispatched yet - it is apparently still on order.

Ooh, mine arrived today from Play.com and very interesting it is too!!!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • I'm a bit disappointed. I haven't read the whole book but I turned first to the recipe section, because I like cooking. All very nice, but most of us know how to make a cheap bolognaise sauce, corned beef hash, tuna bake etc without using things like stock cubes and tins of condensed soup (or can find out how to do it). Could this have been more imaginative?

I'd also hoped for better leftover ideas - although I'll try the Cheddar Cheese and Vegetable Bake as that's a way of using up stuff you have have left hanging around in the fridge. I'd have liked more recipes like that.

I was very interested in the cleaning ideas because housework is a struggle for me. But wasn't there a warning on here about cola discolouring toilets? Also does cola have disinfecting properties?

Still making my way through the book and it looks great but the above just dents the credibility a bit. I had intended to give copies to my daughters but am not sure now.

Just on the recipes, I feel it is an opportunity missed.

Thanks for that info regarding the recipes Molesworth, on that basis I've actually cancelled my order from Amazon:eek: Sacré bleu ! I hear everyone cry. I just think I probably already know most of the stuff in the book especially regarding cooking :o Sorry that sounds bigheaded, but I don't think the book is aimed at me. I'll look out for it in the shops before I buy;)
