Marks and Spencer clothes price hike

Beware when purchasing clothing from M and S. I recently bought a sweater for my husband with a price tag of £15 and was charged £18 at the till. Fortunately, I realised and was able to challenge it. I was told that the price had gone up but I had got one at the old price and was refunded the difference. Yesterday I bought several items and only when I got home found that a vest clearly marked £8 had been charged at £9.50. Today I need to go back again. In each case this is a rise of 20%.

I seem to remember reading late last year that there was a problem with the cotton harvest (weather related) and that cotton prices would rise this year. Possibly related to this? There's the fuel price hike to factor in too.
It's only a game
