Your Group from Orange

Hi everyone!

Ive done a few searches trying to find an answer to this, but no luck in finding anything, so if I've missed something, sorry!

But anyway...
I've recently purchased a new contract on Orange for my partner and added it to my account (as I already have my own contract with them). I was made aware from a friend that Orange provide a service called 'Your Group' where you get unlimited calls to anyone on your account. Ive never heard or seen of this advertised, but when I asked Orange they set this up without problems.

I enquired about adding my parents Pay As You Go sims to my account to get this functionality for them also and was told this is possible. After transfering the PAYG sims to my account, I was told this was not possible and was basically shooed off by them.

It was only until I randomly found information about this service on Google I found this:

"Enjoy free calls to other members of your group, whether they're on pay as you go or a pay monthly plan."

Does this sound like Orange are trying to pull a fast one on me?

Any opinions or advice would be appreciated :)

Is this different from 'Magic numbers'? If it's the same, there are restrictions on adding these numbers to your account

So, is it 'adding' or 'transferring'?

Looks more like typical incompetence of telephone CS to me.

Your Group does allow PAYG phones to be added, as long as they are topped up £10 a month each, added to the PAYM account.

Magic Numbers are available on each too. PAYG is talk for up to an hour for 25p, and you can have 3 Magic Numbers in total from Day 1. On PAYM you get a new Magic Number entitlement every 6 months, with no upper limit, and talk unlimited for free.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

    Sorry about the confusion!

Your Group is completely different to the Magic Numbers. Apparently its a completely different service so you can use the magic numbers for other people.

This is what I was thinking too. Nice to know its not just me thinking this. Going to try ringing again and see what happens. Will post the results.
  • Hi richardedwards4

As simax advised, you should be able to add another two Pay As You Go phones to your existing Your Group. I'm sorry if you were advised otherwise by CS.

If you have any problems, feel free to get in touch with me by using the information on our Profile page. I'd be happy to look into this for you.

    I hope we can help.
