    WOW

Thanks so much Closed for taking the time and effort to post this list.

My machine is running fine btw since I clicked on link but I am just wary that it has downloaded something and this laptop is the one I use for my dads work which has very important files on it and because I cannot seem to run a backup on it im scared I lose things.

I will defo go through this list and see If I can follow all your suggestions. Most of them I think I am capable of doing. I will have to go to bed now as I am up early tommorow but I will try all this tommorow evening after work.

Thank you once again its much appreciated

Mrs T ignore this post from me it's for Russ and Closed but good luck with their help you will be fine.

Chaps I was not blocked I tried it on Plusnet and O2 using my mobile nor on my neighbours' ISP (sorry BH ... but you did say any time) I use the Host lists too but I was testing it all on my Ubuntu netbook under Virtualbox and was using wget as well as FF so i would not expect to be saved by AV nor much else, it seems there was / is a redirect to another redirect which I could not get to . I would have tried on my Windows 7 running NIS but I was running a backup and may need that at sometime:o

I think it has picked up something, or you had it already, userinit entry is the sign of a rootkit.

tdsskiller should only take a few seconds

and you could leave the full kaspersky scan running overnight

Hopefully you will be clear soon, but it is worthwhile you letting the guys here help you sort out the back-ups too, there is no point putting that off because you will fret if you have another close call, so come back to us (ok ok them ) to help you ensure you can do a back up too.
