Got This Link In An Email - Help

Hi

I got this link in an email from a friend. I thought because it was from a friend it was ok and I clicked on it.

Something came up on my screen and said checking for virus and trojans etc and then a box came up trying to get me to download it which I denied.

My free avira anti virus software came up defend.

I just want to know should I be worried.

Is this some sort of virus.

    Do a system restore to yesterday, post a hijackthis log, and do a full scan with malwarebytes and fix anything found before closing to be sure

    I have been running a full malwarebytes scan for the last 24 mins nothing found so far.

    I dont have hijack this, is this a free downloadable program please.

    Tried the link (removed) does not work from here on linux , just get a 404 mind you it could have been migrated by now.
