hi, need a bit of advice please. I have been told my job role has been made redendent in a medium size firm.. This i think is unfair because;
My employer recently made a internal vacancy. A current employee applied and accepted the job as office administrator.(6 week ago). They now want to pass on some of my work to the new office worker. My company has now decided, my role as office administrator is not needed. The reason i feel its unfair, is because why employ someone extra only 6 week ago, if they were planning on making me redendent?
They also now want me to train others in the office to carry out my work, which adds insult to injury, but i need the money so will co-operate. Any advice, wld be much apreciated. thanks

It is not on the face of it unfair.
There were two people employed - yourself and the person who applied for the office administrator job - and one of them is being made redundant.
Was the person who gained that new position replaced in the post they previously held? If not then it appears the workforce is to be reduced by one on the grounds of redundancy.
Advice - co-operate in training others to take on your tasks, take allowed time off to look for other work or arrange training for another role, pick up your redundancy pay.0
