No letter for me yet either. I was expecting one this month, too ... maybe we're not going to get them now? Shame ... that £15 was very handy, especially this time of the year.

Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum? :D
  • i'll have to make an effort to upload my scan and save receipts and 'buy' more on consumer pulse like the days before diary to make up the difference.

Is anyone worried about security with Screenwise, i.e. accessing online bank accounts etc. for example. I've read through the privacy bit while trying to sign up but there's a lot of gobbledegook there and obviously I want to stay safe!

    It says this:

Panelists will install a Screenwise Select UK Panel Wireless Router containing pre-installed software (“SWS Router”) that Google will use to collect data, including potentially personally identifiable information.

And they put it in bold, not me!

I've just received an invite for Screenwise Select and I'm stuck on the page that asks me if I want to accept the Terms & Conditions. It says:

Google will use to collect data, including potentially personally identifiable information, about Internet browsing activities. Internet Panel Data will be transmitted directly to Google.

I understand that you can opt to browse privately, for instance if you're doing online banking, but how do you know it really is 'private' when doing this?

I'm not sure what to do, whether to join or not, and could really use some advice please?

Will the web meter be able to collect my private passwords?

Will the web meter be able to collect my private passwords?
Absolutely not! The web meter just records the website pages you visit and cannot record any information you may enter on them including usernames and passwords. Furthermore, it cannot collect any information from secure websites (websites with a padlock visible in the address bar) such as banking or financial websites.

    What about internet banking?

The webmeter cannot does not record visits to any secure websites (websites with a padlock visible in the address bar) (including internet banking or financial websites) nor any information entered (e.g. Usernames and Passwords) on any website (secure or otherwise).

Could you tell me where you found these FAQs please? I'm still dilly dallying over whether to join or not because of security concerns.

Only a few of days, just long enough for them to start receiving data and get it all registered on the system. :)
