does it matter if i transmit my barcodes everytime i go shopping instead of once a week? thanks

I joined on Wednesday night and got my scanner and handbook this morning! Seeing as I was a bit excited to get started (I know, I'm a bit sad :) ) I scanned tonights shopping (but only after having put it away, so had to go through the cupboards and scan it) Its pretty easy and I would think as you go along you'd get into the routine of scanning all the shopping before putting it away.

In seconds to Lilvixen, do you scan every shop you made that week and then upload everything at the end of the week, or do you upload at the end of every shop?

We don't know if they want you to upload after every shop, they only request it weekly, before midnight on on sunday. To be honest, it maybe time consuming doing it that way and they may not want it. It doesn't take long once a week to upload the barcodes.

have asked them this morning. They have said they prefer you to transmit once a week only.
  • Just joined up to shop and scan and uploaded all my barcodes for the first time today! :j
Just wondered how all you guys deal with the income tax side of things for all the vouchers you earn? This is my first year of doing a tax return as I started doing surveys in November so have registered as self employed. Do the vouchers just go in the same income box as cash income or is there a separate bit to declare this?

I remember reading somewhere that the IR do not consider this income, but I maybe wrong. Do you have some info on it please?

When I first started doing it, I contacted the IR and was told that I wouldn't need to declare these. :)
Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!
  • Seems to be a bit of a grey area then as I asked my local tax office if I needed to declare survey vouchers as part of my income and have it in writing from them that it should be included so was just wondering where on the form it went but assume it would just be as per the rest of the income.
So I assumed that it would be the same for shop and scan - ie as your still getting paid in vouchers.
Anyone else asked this question of IR?
