Whats funny is, the postcode around the corner (which has the same street name as me) is £500 cheaper to insure then the the section of the street I live on. 10 metre difference?

Park it 10m down the road outside a house with the cheaper postcode and tell your insurance company its kept there. Perfectly legitimate...
Haha. Tell me about it. I called up Admiral and told them that I want to change where the car will be kept overnight. They asked why. I told them there is a residential parking area and I want to keep it there. When they requoted, they told me it was cheaper and not possible as the highest risk postcode would need to be entered.
I challenged them with this: "well, if I say I park my car at 4XA but in reality I park it at 4XB, wouldn't that be committing fraud?"
Silence... "Sorry sir, its the way it is I'm afraid." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Basically, I was advised to commit insurance fraud only if it means they make more money out of it. But when it comes down to them loosing money from people being honest, they tell you to be dishonest and break the law.0 -
Sir John Betjeman was right...
Come, friendly bombs, and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now,
There isn't grass to graze a cow.

That's unkind stereotyping. Like any walk of life, there are good scum and bad scum.0 -

"And get that man with double chin,
who'll always cheat and always win,
Who washes his repulsive skin,
in womens' tears"
Betjemen was right in all too many ways... Insurance brokers included."One cool judgment is worth a thousand hasty counsels. The thing to do is to supply light and not heat."

What's your problem with paying a bit more?
I thought money wasn't an issue to you.;)0
