new heating system

I am looking for advice on what heating system to use. I am currently on an economy 7 tariff and use electric storage heaters. However, I have to say that I have found them completely useless as there is never enough heat in the evening.
I am having an extension done this summer and figure it's a good time to install a new heating system. My current idea is to install a wood burning stove with a back boiler and linking this to an accumulator tank and keeping the economy 7 tariff and using the electricity to heat the water in the accumulator tank when I don't want to put the stove on.
However, I just can't find out anywhere if an electric coil can only be used to heat enough water for my hot water supply or if it can do enough to feed the radiators as well.
I don't have any problem getting wood. I don't really want to get a gas tank or an oil drum. When I can afford it I also want to get a solar panel on the roof for hot water in the summer.
Anyone got advice on having a wood burning stove as the main element in a central heating system?

I assume you haven't got gas?
It will cost a lot of money to have radiators, pumps etc fitted, and a lot more if you intend to combine a solid fuel back boiler with any Central heating system. - there are safety issues to overcome.0 -
storage heaters are expensive to run plus you have no control on the heating, i have been heating my house with solid fuel trianco house master but now need to replace the coal cost me £8 a day wich i did nt realise until i worked my sums out. so i am thinking of going for oil but in the meantime i have bought 3 delonghi dragon 3 oil heaters they are brilliant i have them on their lowest setting 600watts they come on for 3 hours in the morning and three hours in the evening they also have a thermostat which you can control the temp these cost £70 each and are very efficent
with their chimney type design which heats the whole room these oil heaters are much better than the cheaper ones , go for the wood burning stove with a boiler which will easily heat your hot water and your bathroom rad , also solar heaters are excellent for the summer
they really do work they will cost you £4000 fitted but there are crooks out there which charge £7000, so my advice is woodburner, solar . and get some delonghi heaters, these oil heaters are now comming a good option since oil and gas have gone up. good luck0 -
