Hi i am looking for a nice hotel in the Lakes, just a nice secluded location for one night for an anniversary on 21st december 06.
Please can anyone suggest a good site apart from Lastminute or expedia with a good rate, on a very tight budget!
Thanks in advance.

My son and his girlfriend spent a couple of nights at the Beaumont Hotel in Windermere last year and said it was very nice. Their rates seem to be reasonable for the area and time of year. I found out about the Beaumont only after my wife and I had stayed in a crappy place, also in Wndermere, where the owner was sadly anorexic, but thought the guests should join her in losing weight, so small were the breakfasts.

I hope it's what you're after."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0 -

Try this group of hotels.. I stayed at the Low Wood in late October with my G/f for a short break, there's a great swimming pool on site and I can recomend the body treatments/massages for a special treat!
If you click on the hotel link and then on the special offers link I believe they're still doing the 40% off if you book online!!!
Enjoy!0 -

I liked the http://www.theswinsideinn.com/ for cheap & cheerful "olde world" hospitality0 -

My parents regularly visit Grayrigg, Judy is ever so nice and altouhg it is not a hotel, it is so beautiful, and the village is amazing.
I can personally recommend this place as i have been many time and my dad has been going here for well over 30 years, he especially recommends the 'walkers bar' just up the road and there are some lovely walks.Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
