Does anyone live near or next to a Village Royal Mail Sorting , Delivery Office?
We've seen a house, but next door is a converted old house into the Village Royal Mail Sorting Office.
Main drawback is the next door sorting office and on a main B road, guess that's the compromise, but offers space, location, schools, parking in comparison to where we are on a new(ish) build area, so limited off street, space and school options.

What time do they start? How many lorries turn up?
Do you sleep like a log?0 -
Having gone to our local sorting office to collect parcels, I'd have thought a sorting office wouldn't be too much of a problem during the day but would be busy very early in the morning.
I'd be more concerned about future plans - do you know if the Royal Mail have any plans to close that sorting office in the future - if so, you don't really know what might take its place.0 -
Good shout on future development
There's no room for expansion, so won't be anything big, but maybe back to a house one day?0 -
Early morning and late evening Vans in and out would be main thought.0

I do!
They start at about 5.30am. And have lights on.
The van turns up between 6 and 7 and blocks our (tiny) street whilst it unloads and loads. Once we had a driver who left the doors open and radio one on full blast and I went out in my nightie and took his keys awayBut generally they are very considerate and I don't know they are there.
The bikes get in the way when I drive in and out of my yard - but not so much that I can't get up and down the road. And the van's during the day block the road about twice.
We have a small office, with four delivery men.0 -

is it purely a delivery office or a mail centre/delivery office?

yup, delivery offices are/will be closed and amalgamated
startng times will become later. this could have a knock on effect on the times the office is 'busy'Good shout on future development

bikes? oh they will be gone soon0 -
We lived across from a sorting office and the noise was awful very early mornings. Radios blaring and the workers shouting over it, added to the issue of parking - both workers and people collecting mail fom the delivery side it was pure hell.
I would advise you take the time to visit the area at five in the morning to get some indication of how bad it is.0 -

5? most delivery office operation start at 6am,soon to be 7am
so going at 5am and seeing a quiet area with perhaps one 600 in the yard isnt going to be much of an indication
the OP needs to first of all clarify what type of office it is0
