They will have to issue an invoice to your company at some stage as its a legal requirement for any Ltd company. You could ask that they post one to the business adress adressed to the Managing Director. Alternatively try and return the products without the reciept..... see what they do then....."but you didnt give us a reciept"

That is what I replied to their email, awaiting reply.

It should be on their website and stationery, their VAT number isn't a secret. For the meantime, look for ir on their 'about us' kinda section and scribble it on the card receipt and delivery note.

I am sure the HMRC are aware of Argos as a company and their VAT registration - or we can get that number at any point of time, as you say, it is not a secret.

The legal requirement it is to have VAT receipt and I doubt that me scribbling me on it would make it any better then just putting the delivery note through the VAT return as VAT receipt..

Also, was it less than £100? Different rules apply below £100.

    From HMRC
If you make retail sales and you make a sale of goods or services for £250 or less including VAT, then when a customer asks for a VAT invoice, you can issue a simplified VAT invoice that only needs to show:
    • the seller's name and address
    • the seller's VAT registration number
    • the time of supply (tax point)
    • a description of the goods or services
Also, if the supply includes items at different VAT rates then for each different VAT rate, your simplified VAT invoice must also show:
    • the total price including VAT
    • the VAT rate applicable to the item
If you accept credit cards, then you can create a less detailed invoice by adapting the sales voucher you give the cardholder when you make the sale. It must show the information described in the six bullets above
You do need to keep copies of any less detailed invoices you issue.

Must have gone up from £100 recently! Makes sense to have had an increase, as it was £100 for a looooooong time.

See my post about the Credit Card statement. Business ones don't look like personal ones.

I would scan one in and post it here ans an example, but I did my receipts and card return last week.

I have read and replied to it... we have NatWest. We don't get statement like that.
I know what you mean - at my last job we had Barclaycard and we did get extra statement with it.
