Take the battery off and charge it off the car or remove the earth lead and charge it on the car.

Use a decent charger and leave it as long as possible, 8 hours+ depending on the charger, Overnight
    would be ideal.

Then connect the battery and take it for a drive using the electrics as little as possible. See if its any better.

i normally keep out of technical threads because i only have limited knowledge but youve already been told it could be a lambda yet at the whim of pedro you change an injector and a coil
a fault code showing as bank 1 would quite likely be a lambda and a simple voltage test would confirm if the lambda is working
if pedro is so good what reading does a vacuum test show on tickover
    what are the compressions
has he physically taken out the plugs to confirm one isnt intermittantly breaking down
    what fault codes are showing
has he done ant live data

you cant keep changing bits this is why diagnostics was invented

The mechanic is English. He also uses a Spanish garage for the Diagnostic & has discussed the problem with them. He has taken out each HT lead as the car is running. On cylinder 1 there is little to no difference, but on all of the 3 other cylinders the engine tick over drops dramatically.
    Nice to save.

Based on the above what do you think should be our next step.

Remembering the Kia mechanic at the Kia main dealers in Elche said it need a €2000-00 repair that is supposed to be free as it is a Kia fault, (If it is that fault) & the symptoms seem to be the same.
    Nice to save.

get the hell out of current garage and take it to one that understands why taking a plug lead off doesnt give a change in engine speed:)

Took the car into the Kia dealers in Torrevieja today. Went into main office. From greeting you with a big smile to face dropping when you say you have a problem. "Are you sure the engine is not 3 cylinder" (The new Kia Picanto is 3 cylinder). OK he says you will need to take the car & tell Pepe the Chassis & registration number & he will check on recalls. You drive it around this block to the back. 10 minutes later we ask for Pepe. Pepe will be here on Monday. Can you help we ask & procede with the problem. Only Pepe can help, so we have to drive back to our town & return on Monday.
    Nice to save.

    good luck

Can you explain what the 'Simple voltage test is' to check if the Lambda is working? If it's simple I will do it myself. I did disconnect the Lambda sensor but the engine still ran the same, if the Lambda sensor was faulty, surly the engine would run correctly with the Lambda sensor disconnected?
    Nice to save.

Trade it in for a car without this problem? I know I would, if I could afford it, after putting up with this for several months.

    Not "moneysaving" but probably "sanitysaving".
