Part buy / part rent & housing benefit

    Yes good idea. But in general, the fact that it's part buy part rent doesn't affect eligibility, is that right? I know someone else said that it's ok but just to be sure.

    Ok, let's say that the full rent (the rent that would be payable if she didn't own a share, ie just a normal tenant) was, say £500 pcm, and she owns 25% of the property, and so the rent payable by her would go down to £375 pcm, would the council do their calculations based on that (£375), or on what the rent would be if she was just a normal tenant (owns no share), namely £500?
