problems with HTC wildfire system update and mobile internet access T-mob
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help...
I have a HTC wildfire and 2 weeks ago downloaded their system update,
since then I havent been able to get onto my internet. I can access my wifi internet but not my mobile internet.
Took it into t-mobile shop yesterday and they couldnt figure it out, said they wanted to send the fone away for 2 weeks to be checked...theyd probably end up doing a system re-start so dont want to do this yet without trying to fix it myself.
HTC advise is 'take the battery out and put it back in again'! great advice...it didnt work.
Please can anyone help? Has anyone else had similar problems...
Have googled the problem and in Sept 2010 others had similar problem and fixed it by turning the airplane mode on, then off again...
this doesnt work either.
T- mobile website help and support is useless too!
thanks

Have you tried running the "Setup Wizard" program in the phone menu and selecting T-mobile. If no luck then, have you tried doing a factory reset.
http://www.htc.com/www/howto.aspx?id=3567&type=1&p_id=316
The bit in that article where it says "Performing a factory reset using phone buttons"
Note this will wipe everything off your phone including data on the phone memory. so backup what you need.
When it restarts, you will get an option to select the network of choice.0 -
Also you can try turning Wifi off first and then trying to access web through the browser, it might ask you to select how to connect. The airplane mode needs to be off too.0

Try this:
Go to Settings - Wireless and Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names
Then click menu and select New APN and enter in the below details.
Profile name T-Mobile Mobile Internet
Homepage http://www.t-mobile-favourites.co.uk
APN general.t-mobile.uk

Password tmHave I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0
