I have a couple of cousins and frends in the rest of the world. When i ring or giv them a miss call on their mobile, rather then me listening the normal ring tone (beep beep...beep beep..) i hear an MP3 or a song which they have put on..is this possible in UK ? i mean lets say if someone calls me on my mobile, they dont hear the normal ring tone but some song or music ?...so that while i answer the mobile they keep themselves amused...

Yeah two of my friends also have this.

One of them was on Orange, and he got his music as part of a promotion.

My other friend is on the 3 Network and he enabled it through his phone.

Not sure if all networks allow this ... would be nice to know though.

I am on T-Mobile and would like some music on my ring too :)

Actually, just found how to do this on T-Mobile if anyone is interested.

  • Good spot for the T-Mobile tune but I don't think I would pay a few quid just to choose one from their list of tunes. If the caller could hear the sounds of my choice then I definitely would. I suppose the networks wouldn't let you in case you just played free-to-hear recorded info.

  • I mean it surprises me how the rest of the world have this facility and we still dont have one yet, though we are one of the most advanced countries with best technology.

I works on 3 as well.
    About £2.5 or £3.5 for a tune.

Open 3 browser and look for "dialtunes" not Ring Tones, this is what they call them.

Personally I am annoyed by these tunes......just my 1.01pence
