So i tried the salt/water recipe using a washed-out optrex eye dropper bottle to dispense it.......water was a bit cold & it felt like fire going through me!!!....but it certainly seemed to help.

Lukewarm water would be easier, there's also more chance of the salt dissolving properly.

It is a strange experience but really worth persevering with.

Yes, I didn't really think the job through. I had salt/water mix in the fridge for my eyes and thinking that anything cold will take away the swelling it would work.

Anyway, we live and learn, it will be warm next time......I thought perhaps putting it in something like an old beconaise sprayer.

One other thing, just lately when I lie down my chest gets all irritated and an annoying tickling raspy cough develops, what do you prefer to soothe chests?

definitely use a neti pot or a sinucleanse/nasopure squeezy bottle with himalayan salt.

Haven't had to buy any sinus tablets for years now or had any major sinus infections since I started using the neti pot.
