Hi
help how should i best get rid of 25k credit card debt - am making the min credit card payments but cant pay anymore as currently have no money left a month to buy food so have to pay for food on a credit card! nightmare scenario. I have a mortgage so thought about adding onto the mortgage but dont want to be saddled with a 155k mortage when a single parent and the house is probably only worth 180k at the most. I dont want to go on one of these plans as my current mortgage terms ends in sept and assume i wont be able to get a new mortgage if i do?
are there any options in a mess?

Post a statement of affairs on the Debt free Wannabe part of the forum.
Be prepared to revolutionise your approach to money.
Stop spending on the cards.
Pay more than the minimum balance, even if only £1 more for now.0 -

Could you?
Spend less
Head over to the debt-free wannabe board, post a statement of affairs (full financial disclosure), and the people there will trim your budget for you.
Restructure the debt (ie lower the interest rates, lengthen the term, etc)
Without knowing your income, total available credit, how many cards, and other financial info, no specific advice can be given. However, putting the debt on the mortgage turns unsecured borrowing into secured borrowing and could result in you losing your home.0 -
