Evans Halshaw Extended Warranty

I've purchased this warranty only because of the breakdown cover. Needed to use it last night as had a puncture and that foam stuff wouldn't work. Called the number I have to find I wasn't covered and that they would need £151 to join. I refused as can get a friend to help next day for free. I will be taking it up with ripoff halshaw as soon as they open. Also discovered that the car doesn't even have a jack and nut remover and relies solely on that stupid foam.
I'll let you know what halshaws say!!0 -
I bought an insignia recently and took out the 2 year extended warranty. Within 3 months have had a bit of bad luck. Radiator core went dropping all its coolant, fixed under warranty!
Turbo has just died and car is wit Evans halshaw now. Being fixed under warranty. I've well and truly had my money worth from it already. Brand new turbo supplied and fitted is going to be in excess of around £1500 if not more as they won't put a reconditioned one on.0 -
Fixed by the dealer under the SOGA more like.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

So do you work for Evans halshaw then? To take the time to drag up a thread that's 6 months old for your 1st post, just to tell everyone how great this warrenty is? When in reality these warranties arnt worth the toilet paper they should be written on. Con Men at their finest these warrenty companies.0 -

No far from it. It's called 'Googling' or 'Researching'. My car developed a problem and while waiting for it to be booked into garage I did some research hoping to find our About any one else having the same car issues and being fixed under the extended warranty. Once mine was booked and authorised I thought I would post.
I never even looked at the dates of previous posts. Personally I think you need to change your attitude as it gives this forum a very bad vibe. Had you even been bothered to do a little 'Googling' yourself on my username you would see its been in use on car forums for about 16-17 years, the length of time I have been driving.
In regards to the extendard warranty, if it's written on toilet paper or not I could not care less. It's paying for my insignia to have a new turbo fit with currently 68k on a 09 plate 160 CDTI. For me that's paid for itself 4 times over alone not to mention the new radiator back in july.0 -
In regards to working for Evans Halshaw, unless they put blue lights on their Astras as well that will be a no.0

Speak to your local Renault authorised dealer or Renault directly if you get no joy. My GF had a renault megane scenic (similar car) with the KNOWN fault that the entire dash display wouldn't work - Renault agreed to stand the majority of the cost of replacing, we had to pay £100.
It's a known issue with 2005+ meganes/scenics0
